MES: Unlocking Information Silos of Plant Level Data
Global manufacturers want an integrated view of the shop floor. In response, manufacturing execution systems (MES) have emerged as a powerful tool for integrating plant-floor data with information provided by applications, such as enterprise resource planning (ERP) and customer relationship management (CRM). MES can connect the world, and it has an exciting future when combined with promising technologies such as business process management (BPM) and service oriented architecture (SOA).

Compliant Manufacturing Operations in Life Sciences Companies: Compliant Operations to Lead the Competition
Compliant Manufacturing Operations in Life Sciences Companies: Compliant Operations to Lead the Competition. Find Free Guidelines and Other Solutions to Define Your Systems Implementation In Relation To the Compliant Manufacturing Operations. For many life sciences organizations, a key impediment to compliant manufacturing operations remains the disconnect between enterprise and plant systems. This results in unsynchronized business processes and inadequate use of resources, which in turn increases the risk of non-compliance and inadequate quality of finished products. Find out why simply connecting systems is not enough to fully overcome these challenges.

Manufacturing 2007 Executive Summary
Manufacturing 2007 Executive Summary. Papers and Other Package to Use In Your System for Manufacturing. For a decade, IndustryWeek and the Manufacturing Performance Institute (MPI) Census of Manufacturers have provided data to US manufacturers. This year, MPI fielded a similar survey in Canada, offering an intriguing look into the differences between the Canadian and US manufacturing landscapes. This executive summary presents combined data from these surveys, aimed at helping manufacturers meet future challenges.

PLANT MAINTENANCE: MPI to approximately 12,000 plant leaders. There were 798 valid surveys received (415 online respondents and 383 hard-copy mail respondents) from April through July 2006. Responses were received by MPI, and then entered into a database, edited, and cleansed to ensure answers were plausible, where necessary. All respondent answers to the survey are anonymous. As an incentive, respondents were offered onetime access to a database of this year s findings and entered into a random drawing for monetary awards.

What Plant-level Systems Can Do for the Enterprise Market
To gain the competitive edge, enterprises are seeking tools to break information silos. Collaborative planning and manufacturing has given plant-level systems a whole new meaning.

PLANT MAINTENANCE: to manage an isolated plant floor department or function, is being given a much broader, tactical role. This information is being used to provide near real time information that can be used to manage corporate-wide business processes and support collaborative initiatives across the value chain. Industrial segments, such as global brand management in consumer packaged goods (CPG) and warranty cost containment in the automotive segment, are key drivers that use plant-level information.
